Due to COVID-19, Nicolette van Dam and Bas Smit were unable to travel abroad in 2020, so they decided to explore the Netherlands instead. They visited Friesland and Zeeland, and took a beautiful boat trip across the IJsselmeer, passing villages like Volendam and Urk. They fell so in love with their own country that it resulted in several books.
